Dengue disease is one disease that is dangerous in Indonesia. Every day good on television, newspapers, radio and magazine show about the dangers of the disease. The disease is caused by mosquito bites of Aedes aegypti and most attacking children aged 5-9 years. The signs are sudden high fever for 2-7 days, liver enlargement, decreased pulse rate until the resulting red spots on the body. However, the most feared is the occurrence of bleeding from the nose, and mouth. Much the way people do when the disease began to spread is by fumigation (using insecticides), clean up mosquito breeding, kill mosquito larva, using anti-mosquito lotion and so forth.

Until now there is no proper medicine to cope with dengue disease. But there are some people, try to eat the red guava fruit to cope with dengue disease. But it true that red guava fruit is able to treat those who tested positive for dengue?

Guava (Psidium guajava) is a plant with many branched shrub that can reach 12 meters high. Can grow in the lowlands to the highlands with an altitude of 1,200 meters above sea level. Guava preferred because it tastes sweet, fruits are large, thick, soft and fleshy. Flesh is red and some white. Guava in every 100 grams contains: vitamin A 25 SI, 0.02 milligrams of vitamin B1, vitamin C is 87 milligrams, 14 milligrams calcium, 12.2 grams carbohydrate, 28 milligrams phosphorus, 1.1 milligram iron, protein 0, 9 mg, 0.3 grams fat and 86 grams of water. In the literature on research of traditional medicinal plants, guava contain a complete healing substances ranging from fruits, leaves to the stem. For example the root and bark can be used to treat gastroenteritis (inflammation of mucous membrane diseases of the stomach and intestine), while the stalks for treating canker sores. The mixture of guava leaves and betel leaf is brewed is to clean the female so as not to itch because of bacteria and fungi.

Results of research Prof. Dr. Soegeng Soegijanto, SpA (K) and Harjono Achmad from the Faculty of Medicine, Airlangga University, said that efficacious as anti-dengue is guava leaves. We have seen that the guava leaf has been used to treat diarrhea. In guava leaf turned out to contain many chemical compounds are aldehyde groups, guanine and quercentin. Quercentin is the principal of the flavonoid compounds that effectively increase the number of platelets. in the blood that could inhibit the growth of dengue virus and increased platelets to 100 thousand millimeters perkubik within 8-48 hours after consumption, and without side effects. Quercentin levels in leaves is higher than the fruit that is in a leaf level is the same as in one kilogram of fruit.

The way we do treatment can easily take 5 pieces of guava leaf that is not too old or younger and then boiled in 3 cups of water until the remaining 1 cup, drink boiled water once daily for 3-4 days. Do not forget to multiply the drinking water for the body fluid is not reduced also give guava juice because the juice contains vitamin C and A which can accelerate the healing process.
